Areas subject to high risk of impact

Due to its resistant and non-porous mineral nature, CAREA® Mineral Composite is ideal for cladding wall bases.

Risks regarding wall bases

The ground floors of buildings (housing, public and private tertiary sector, retail, educational establishments, etc.) regularly suffer damage due to various causes:

  • Vandalism
  • Graffiti
  • Play area
  • Traffic area
  • Soiling

This damage devalues the asset, creates risks to occupiers and increases maintenance and repair costs.

Ground floors therefore require a specific response which must be:

  • Resistant
  • Durable
  • Secure
  • Low-maintenance

Wall bases, regulations

Two general documents, CWCT reference guides, help the contractors and clients to define the performances of the structure in the written documents.
They define:

  • The means of assessing the performance of the cladding and weatherboarding: TN76 from the CWCT.
  • Performance requirements to be met according to the building exposure (play area, traffic area, etc.): TN76 from the CWCT.

ETAG034 may also be referred to as it also defines the performances to be achieved.
